It’s been a busy season in the Mission with crews popping in at different times of the day and night to relax, connect to the Free WiFi making calls home or to their loved ones, probably not even noticing the time difference which can be quite significant with Indonesia and the Phillipines.
They also enjoy hot and cold drinks and biscuits and chocolate bars, some of which have been donated. They enjoy a game of pool, watch the TV or play on the new Games Console. Sometimes we are even treated to some music on the guitar and a sing along, most recently was a pair who sang Rod Stewart’s “I don’t want to talk about it”.
They can also help themselves to the clothes that are also donated or given through the Charity Shop, all good quality clothes are appreciated even ladies and childrens, and especially toys.
Any donations of money we are given goes back into Welfare for our Seafarers, so the more we have the more we give away, we like to ensure that if they come into the Mission they don’t have to pay out for anything.
As you will see they are always happy to pose for a photograph.
