We have seen an increased number of Seafarers in the Mission this year which is lovely, it is what we are here for, they can come in any time of day and night as it is open 24/7, although it is not staffed all the time! They can have access to WiFi which is shared by using Freedom Hotspot and we are very grateful to them and for the support we receive from Bal who is always available to answer our queries.
There is hot and cold drinks, biscuits and chocolate bars or home baking if we know they are coming.
The TV is there which (when it is workinig) has several channels in different languages, we do ask that they don’t log in to their personal YouTube or Netflix account as it seems to cause us issues with the TV. But they can download on their own devices no problem.
We have donated clothes which are available for free, mens for themselves and ladies and childrens to take home to family. With any donations whether physical items, or monetary we give back more to the Seafarers. We have showering facilities if they want to and games of pool or electronic pac man.
We pride ourselves on the fact that they can come into the Mission and not pay a penny.
As you will see from the photographs they love to pose for a group photo.
